Produced with conviction by Hem and Haw Productions, this CD opens with a full choral version of “Oh No” the perfect babe song written by founding member Christine Lavin. The New Hormonal Imbalance Musical Revue welcomes two new cast members; Philadelphia’s comic goddess, Deirdre Flint, showcasing her wry wit and charm with “Cheerleader,” “Boob Fairy,” along with the ever so smooth “Taxidermal Therapy” and Nashville’s studio singing, magazine editing, songwriter, Nancy Moran, who lets loose and pumps it up on “Honestly,” while soulfully wishing us all “Unconditional Love.” She also does a straight up killer version of the Camille West/Scott Wodicka hit “Viagra in the Waters.” Longtime Babes, Sally Fingerett and Debi Smith are back with those “Babe Tunes” they’re most known for. Sally accepts the inevitable and heats things up with “Hot Flash,” calms down while pleading for “One Easy Day” and then finds her balance as she honors ancestors and family with her haunting “Faces on My Wall.” Debi Smith once again takes that 5 octave range voice of hers out for a stroll with “Walk the Walk,” while paying tribute to her walking partner (her mom) with “Just Ask Your Doctor,” a hilarious diatribe of pharmaceutical warnings that Debi co-wrote with her mother Vivian Smith. This new project wouldn’t be complete without Debi’s Babe hit “Pass it On” an ode to her son featuring her magnificent Bodhran (Irish drum).
TWO BABES JOIN "ONE MEAT BALL" PROJECT ON APPLESEE RECORDINGS The Babes' founding mother and dearest pal, Christine Lavin, has produced yet another wonderful compilation of great singer/songwriters. This delightful CD includes 19 songs all centered around food and it's joys, written and performed by contemporary singer songwriters, as well as composers from the Cabaret and Broadway communities. Also included is an innovative 97 page spiral bound "Cook Booklet." Two of Chris' guests are current Babes Sally Fingerett with her song "Ten Pound Bass" (with guest vocalist Jonathan Edwards) as well as Debi Smith's delicious "Pie" (with guest Doc Watson). BITCHIN BABES DO DECEMBER! Yep, it was only a matter of time that someone would ask the Babes to "artfully" do something for charity! Check out this wonderfully fun and campy 2007 calendar by the kind and loving photographer Jayne Touhy. All proceeds to uninsured musicians in need. Order yours at:
DR. DEMENTO INCLUDES THE BABES ON HIS ANNUAL SAMPLER!
Well, as it happens, the very wonderfully sick and twisted Dr. Demento, has invited the Babes' very own Deirdre Flint to lend "Taxidermal Therapy" to his next "Dr. Demento Basement Tapes No. 15." This annual sampler will be available to members of his Demented Society, (join now at www.drdemento.com) and we're tickled that he found the Babe's newest CD "Hormonal Imbalance...A Mood Swinging Musical Revue" and asked if he might include Deirdre's song for his fans. The Dr. Demento Show is radio's weekly two-hour festival of "mad music and crazy comedy" heard on stations coast to coast. It is a free-wheeling, unpredictable mix of music and comedy. Along with legends like Spike Jones, Tom Lehrer, Stan Freberg, Monty Python, and Frank Zappa, the Doctor plays new funny songs sent in professional singers and comedians. And now...The Four Bitchin' Babes! BABES SPEND A DAY AT THE NEW AND EXCITING XM RADIO STUDIOS! After doing a live studio concert for The Village, with hosts MarySue Twohy and Robert Aubrey Davis, the Babes walked down the beautiful hall to chat and schmooze on the Take Five Channel's "Broadminded", with hostesses Molly, Christine, and Shari. What great fun! If you're not hip to what XM Radio is...you must see, we mean, hear this! XM Satellite Radio - America's #1 Satellite Radio Service

SALLY PERFORMS WITH "THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES" When the National Touring Company of Eve Ensler's award winning play "The Vagina Monologues" got ready to perform in Columbus, Ohio, they invited our own Columbus Babe to join the cast. That's a huge honor and adds Sally to a world-class alumni list. The Vagina Monologues gives voice to a chorus of lusty, outrageous, poignant, brave, highly original and thoroughly human stories. Based on interviews with a diverse group of women - from a Long Island antique dealer to a Bosnian refugee - the play brazenly explores the humor, power, pain, wisdom, outrage, mystery and excitement hidden in vaginas. Having seen The Vagina Monologues, no one - woman or man - will ever look at the world the same way again. The Vagina Monologues was originally produced in an Obie Award-winning run in 1996 by HOME for Contemporary Theatre and Art at HERE. Since that time, it has toured the country and internationally, with performances in Jerusalem, Berlin, Athens, Zagreb and a hit run in London. The text of The Vagina Monologues has also been used in two wildly successful benefit performances entitled V-Day (1998 in New York and 1999 in London), in which Eve Ensler was joined by such stars as Glenn Close, Cate Blanchett, Winona Ryder, Susan Sarandon, Whoopi Goldberg, Marisa Tomei, Rosie Perez, Lily Tomlin, Kate Winslett, Melanie Griffith and Calista Flockhart. V-Day raises funds for organizations that combat sexual violence against women.
When Michael Feldman's nationally syndicated radio show, "Whad'Ya Know," was broadcast live from Ohio State's Mershon Auditorium, they invited Sally to appear as the musical guest. Sally grabbed this photo op so Babe Fans could see that Michael Feldman is way cute, a total babe, and who knew he'd be so tall? Photo: Michael and Sally |
